1. If a junior is appearing for the AAO LDCE exam, does their senior also need to apply?
Answer:
No, a senior is not obligated to apply just because a junior is taking the exam. However, if the senior meets the eligibility criteria, including having sufficient qualifying service, they can still apply.

2. Is it sufficient for a senior’s name to appear in the gradation list to be eligible?
Answer:
Yes, the divisional gradation list within the cadre (MTS, PM, PA) is the key factor in determining eligibility for the AAO LDCE exam. A senior’s name on the gradation list, along with the completion of requisite service, qualifies them to apply.

3. Can a senior who was transferred through Rule 38 be considered in the seniority comparison for the exam?
Answer:
No, officials who transferred under Rule 38 maintain their original division’s seniority, and this does not affect their eligibility in the new division. Seniority for AAO LDCE exam purposes does not take Rule 38 transfers into account when comparing with juniors.

4. Does a senior automatically qualify for the exam if their junior is eligible?
Answer:
No, seniors do not automatically qualify based on their junior’s eligibility. Eligibility is strictly determined by meeting the required qualifying service conditions, not by a junior’s participation in the exam. Seniors must independently fulfill the criteria to be considered.

5. What if a senior lacks the full qualifying service? Can they still apply?
Answer:
Yes, seniors who are short of the requisite qualifying service by no more than half of the required time or two years (whichever is less) can still be considered for the exam, provided they have completed their probation for promotion.

6. Can an arrangement be made where a senior appears for the exam without meeting eligibility criteria?
Answer:
No, such arrangements are not allowed. All candidates, including seniors, must meet the prescribed eligibility conditions to sit for the exam. Any manipulation to bypass rules for eligibility is not permissible.
