The Supervisor of the Savings Bank Control Organization (SBCO) at a Head Post Office is competent to issue a letter to the concerned Lower Selection Grade (LSG) Sub Postmaster (SPM) when Account Opening Forms (AOF) have not been enclosed with closed accounts. As the in-charge of the SBCO branch, the supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with Savings Bank (SB) rules. If any irregularities are found, such as missing AOFs, the supervisor can raise an objection and request that the LSG SPM forward the necessary forms and avoid such errors in the future.

The supervisor, empowered by SB rules, can demand that all required documentation, including AOFs, be submitted with closed accounts. This ensures the proper settlement of objections and maintains the integrity of the savings account records.

In this context, the Postmaster’s role is broader, overseeing the general functioning of the post office, but the task of scrutinizing financial records and settling savings-related objections falls under the purview of the SBCO. The supervisor of SBCO holds the authority to enforce compliance with the savings bank procedures, while the Postmaster supervises overall operations.

To prevent such objections, a general instruction could be issued to all Postmasters and Sub Postmasters, reminding them of the importance of submitting all required documents, including AOFs, to avoid future SBCO objections.
