During L1 registration, users may encounter the error: “Registration with CIDR failed due to network error. Please check internet connection and try again.” This error typically points to network connection issues or missing security certificates on the system. Below is a detailed guide to resolve this issue.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide:

  1. Open the EA Portal:
  2. View the Security Certificate:
    • In your browser, click on the lock icon in the address bar.
    • Select View Certificate.
  3. Copy the Certificate to File:
    • Click on Copy to File and hit Next.
    • Provide a name for the certificate file and save it on your desktop.
  4. Download the Certificate Files:
    • Download and extract the Security Certificate UIDAI EA Portal.zip file to the computer where the issue is occurring.
  5. Open the Certificate File:
    • Double-click the Security Certificate UIDAI EA Portal.cer file to open it.
  6. Install the Certificate:
    • Click Install Certificate to start the installation process.
    • Choose Local Machine and click Next.
  7. Select the Certificate Store:
    • Choose Place all certificates in the following store and click Browse.
    • Tick the checkbox for Show physical stores.
  8. Navigate to Trusted Root Certification Authorities:
    • In the folder tree, select Third-Party under Trusted Root Certification Authorities.
    • Click Next and then click Finish.
  9. Complete the Installation:
    • Click OK to close the certificate installation window.
  10. Restart the ECA Client Registration:
  • Attempt to register the ECA client once again.
  • Check if the issue has been resolved.
