Editing the Hosts File to Access Finacle
- Open System in Administrator Mode
Start by running your system or opening applications in Administrator mode. This ensures you have the necessary permissions to make changes to system files. - Navigate to the Hosts File Location
Go to the directory:Local Disk (C:) > Windows > System32 > drivers > etc
- Open the Hosts File
Right-click on thehosts
file and select “Open with” > “Notepad.” This will open the file in Notepad, allowing you to edit it. - Add the Required Host Entry
Scroll to the last line of the file and add the following entry:172.16.20.40 dpdcpfjc.fsi.indiapost.gov.in
After editing, your hosts file should look similar to the example below:
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
172.16.20.40 dpdcpfjc.fsi.indiapost.gov.in
Save the Changes
Save the file. Since the hosts file is a system file, you may need Administrator permissions to save it. If prompted, confirm the action.
Open Finacle
With this entry added, try opening Finacle to confirm that it connects correctly.
