Subject: Operations and Maintenance of Department of Posts Project
Summary:
The Department of Posts has notified that SIFY, the current operator, has withdrawn its services. Notably, the majority of the 27,000 links operate on BSNL’s MPLS backbone. It is crucial for all BSNL circles to ensure continuous operational status for all MPLS connections, as backup links may not be available.
Instructions:
- MPLS Connectivity Monitoring: All circles are required to maintain vigilant monitoring of the MPLS connectivity to ensure stability. Given the critical nature of the network, one person must be designated in each circle to report to the Chief Postmaster General (CPMG) in the event of any connectivity issues.
- Coordination and Reconfiguration: The designated person should be prepared to manage any router faults and assist in reconfiguring routers as necessary.
- Technical Support: The MPLS NOC in Bangalore should be approached for technical support as required. Furthermore, MPLS NOC is requested to reserve a call center seat exclusively for the Department of Posts to streamline assistance.
Reporting Requirement:
An action-taken report must be submitted to this office.
This directive is issued with the approval of the competent authority.
