In a significant development for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), the online portal for submitting transfer applications under the ‘Limited Transfer Facility’ will be opened starting December 5, 2024. This initiative follows the earlier request by the Department for the commencement of ‘Vacancy Updation’ activities, which was completed between November 25 and November 30, 2024.
According to a notification issued by the department, GDS employees seeking transfer will be able to register and submit their applications through the online portal from December 5 to December 12, 2024. Additionally, applicants will be allowed a one-time modification period from December 13 to December 14, 2024, where they can alter their preferences or options in the application.
The verification of online applications will take place from December 16 to December 19, 2024, after which the list of approved transfers will be published online by December 26, 2024. GDS employees will be relieved from their current posts to join their new assignments by January 11, 2025.
The department has emphasized the importance of adhering to the timeline and guidelines outlined in the official memorandum dated October 10, 2024. It further directed Circles to ensure strict compliance with these deadlines and assured that any technical issues would be addressed by Circles in consultation with the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT).
For smooth processing, the concerned circles are also requested to ensure that the portal remains functional and accessible as per the scheduled timeline. Any issues not related to policy will be handled at the Head of Region/Head of Circle level.
This initiative is aimed at streamlining the transfer process for GDS employees, ensuring transparency and efficiency in the management of GDS vacancies across the country.
