Group D has been a terminology for here and in many other institutions, including the banking sector, concerning nomenclature for Group D staff. These classes formed an integral part of how employees were mobilized on their jobs, especially on how they are going to serve different assignments. TC stands for Test Category, while NTC stands for Non-Test Category.

1. Test Category:

TC employees belonged to Group D and were those who had passed certain tests or examinations, and on that basis, they were allowed to perform various jobs in different branches. They do counter work and other important works that a regular PA can do. This was representative of a level of skill or qualification, whereby these employees could perform more serious jobs than those of their counterparts in the NTC category

2. Non-Test Category:

NTC consists of all those whose assignments were not meant to be examined by the test. The posts mostly included Night Watchman, Watermen, etc., and a number of such non-technical support grades. NTC employees were normally not deployed in big operations and counter services; however, they were assigned important functions bringing about the right overall operations in an organization but not directly facing customers.

Group D to MTS Organization Transition & Group C Later Onboard

Over the years, the Group D cadre was up for review with many other aspects of grouping in such institutions in mind, more especially the banking institutions. The Group D category was disbanded, thereby placing the jobs under MTS, which are thereby placed in the Group C category. This, among other overall coordination activities, has been aimed at optimizing man-hours and their related duties.
